What Ngilu Defection to ODM means to Kibaki and Kalonzo!
Ngilu has always been know an Iron lady because of her unshaken stands she always takes and her move on Friday was tremendous and mind-boggling.
Ngilu together with Kijana Wamalwa and Kibaki was the founding members of NAK which later become NARC (the ruling party)on coalition with Rainbow coalition which comprise of defectors from KANU when then President decided to Impose Hon Kenyatta as his successor.
She is not short of controversies once having broke into a police station to force the release of activist
Mama Ngilu was able to beat her distracter who were expecting her to support her fellow kinsman Kalonzo .On her speech during the press conference she said Kenya needs leaders who are able to raise beyond tribal lines
During Saturday ODM launch she termed Raila as the second Africa Nelson Mandela because of his efforts and struggles to liberate people from social-economical injustice.
Having once view for the highest seat on the land,Ngilu command much respect and support from Kambaland compared to Kalonzo who is always viewed as coward and lack of spine.
As an icon to African woman she having been the first woman to vie for presidency she expected to influence the greater population of Kenya women to vote for ODM because they are assured of her representation once ODM assume power early next year .Her decision to join ODM was a strategic and prescience on her realization that ODM was the only party with national outlook
. She is a very dedicated women to her family and business.
Ngilus’ move to join ODM is a clear indicator that she is always ready to rise beyond tribal politics
Ngilu has been serving as health minister since 2002 till they were fired with her assistant Dr Enoch Kibungunchy who too defected to ODM
